SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University suffered its second straight loss 1-0 to No. 16 Georgia Gwinnett on Thursday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Joy Mertzig accounted for the only goal of the contest. Oklahoma City dropped to 4-4 in women’s soccer this season.
The Stars’ Annie Bragg, a sophomore from Norman, Okla., posted a team-high three shots. Jessica Titsworth recorded two shots for OCU. Titsworth, Rachel Brantley and Keilah Ayum each put one shot on frame that Georgia Gwinnett goalkeeper Sophie Hoare saved.
Mertzig scored unassisted in the 49th minute.
Georgia Gwinnett generated eight shots, while OCU took seven. The Grizzlies also had the edge in shots on goal, 5-3.
Nadine Steiner provided Oklahoma City with three saves. Hoare also notched three saves in picking up the shutout.
