Alston is the first from Emmanuel to earn the prestigious honor.
A senior from Smyrna, Ga., Alston put together one of the finest years in the history of Conference Carolinas track & field. She just missed on a national championship in both the 100 meters and 200 meters at the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Alston claimed national runner-up honors in the 200 meters with a time of 23.38. She also finished as the national runner-up in the 100 meters with a time of 11.86.
Alston just missed on a national title in the 200 meters at the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships as well. Alston posted a time of 24.35 to earn national silver medalist honors.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor Track & Field Southeast Region Track Athlete of the Year, Alston earned All-America honors in both indoor and outdoor track & field in the 2020-21 academic year.
