JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The College of Coastal Georgia Mariners (3-3) fell to the NCAA DI Jacksonville University Dolphins 99-57 in an exhibition.
Against the NCAA DI opponent, Coastal Georgia shot 34.4 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from the foul line. They struggled from behind the arc only shooting 25.0 percent. In contrast, Jacksonville University shot 56.5 percent from the field, 45.2 percent beyond the arc, and 62.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Kenny Brown led the Mariner offense with 19 points scored. He was the only Mariner to hit double digits. Brown shot 8-18 from the field and 3-9 from behind the arc. He also totaled three rebounds and two steals.
Lee Green was the leading rebounder for Coastal Georgia totaling five rebounds, all defensive.
Coastal Georgia forced 21 Dolphin turnovers and scored 10 points off of them. They also added 25 bench points and five second-chance points.
Coastal Georgia was outrebounded 31 to the Dolphins 44. Each team recorded nine offensive rebounds.
The Mariners’ best scoring run was nine points at 19:55 remaining in the second half.
Coastal Georgia will face NCAA DI opponent Georgia Southern on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 4 p.m.
